A retail CV is quite different from any other CV. A retail manager’s job is huge as compared to most other jobs owing to the multitude of activity happening in the retail space including purchases, sales, inventory management, hr management, billings and grievances. Hence your CV must display a fair deal of understanding of each of the job functions.

Refrain your writing your CV in a standard format like any other CV. Rather highlight your experience in retail distribution, inventory controls, merchandise displays and budget planning. These areas the most important areas of a retail management and a strong grounding in the same can help you achieve your much desired success.

Also indicate your relationships with the vendors and the manufacturing companies as purchase and sales are the basic operation happening in any retail chain.

Also retail is a very dynamic field and hence the customers always expect more out of a retail environment. This leads to dis-satisfied customers, which in turn leads to grievances. Make sure you mention instances where you have successfully handled customer grievances as customer is the king in a retail environment. This alone is going to earn you brownie points from your potential employer.
